Appendix E: The Dobsons of Moorsholm
(See Chapter 7)
William Dobson married Frances Palister in 1809 at Skelton* in North Yorkshire. It is not known when and where they were born, but Frances Dobson is shown in the 1841 census return as a farmer aged 55, and was presumably a widow by then.
*Editor's note: according to John Dobson (GenesReunited contact), William Dobson married Frances Pallister at Loftus 26 February 1809. It was his second marriage having been previously married to Jane Webster at Brotton. He was born in Ellerby on 16 February 1768.
William Dobson's father was Francis Dobson, born Mickleby 16 July 1732, who married Barbara Lakely at Lythe 13 December 1764.
Frances Pallister, born Loftus 25 June 1786, was the daughter of Robert and Ann Pallister.
